Tim Barklay from Comic Book Nerds Are Hot aka CBNAH kindly allowed IndieComiX to share several of his thoughts on a few Indy titles from several different publishers such as Image, BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse, and 2000 AD! So with that said, enjoy!
So this week my pull list consisted of four final issues, an issue 1, plus 2 others. Here's my thoughts:
Final Issue #1 - 5 Weapons #5 by Jimmie Robinson: This book has been so much fun. Tyler's secret is exposed, plus he faces his biggest foe yet! An awesome open ending for a cute sick funky little title. 8.5/10
Final Issue #2 - 47 Ronin #5 by Mike Richardson and Stan Sakai: Again, another amazing ending. People familiar with the based-on-a-true-story tale of the 47 loyal retainers will know how it ends, but it's exciting to read none the less. Sakai's art is unsurprisingly amazing. 9/10
Final Issue #3 - Emily and The Strangers #3 by Mariah Huehner and Emily Ivie: Emily and the band go on a pg rated acid trip to perfect their sound. If you dig fun all ages books about preteen cat loving eccentric inventors, buy this book. 8/10

Final Issue #4 - Polarity #4 by Max Bemis and Jorge Coelho: What a trip. Bemis and Coelho perfectly visualise bipolar disorder with respect and straight out awesome-ness. Another fine conclusion to an excellent series. 8.5/10
First Issue - Catalyst Comix #1 by Joe Casey, Dan McDaid, Paul Maybury, and Ulises Farinas: Pick of the week for me. The events of one day told by three people involved on superheroing. Casey delightfully overwrites this book in a successful attempt to bring life and pulp back into superhero comics. visually stunning and very well written. Check it out. 9/10

Abe Sapien #4: Best issue yet. I love how this book is exploring the regular folks' reaction to Hell on Earth, plus Fiumara's art is delightfully dark. 8/10
2000 AD #1838: This book hasn't been this good visually for a long time. Dave Taylor on Dredd, Montynero's Terror Tales, Leigh Gallager's visuals on Pat Mills' Defoe and John Burns' work illustrating Dan Abnett's Sinister/Dexter have all be top notch. 8/10
