Summary: Ever wondered what would happen if you mixed up the films ‘Battle Royale’, ‘Planet Terror’ and TV series ‘Fringe’? No?!, well neither had anyone else, but here it is, Killer b*****s of the zombie holocaust. A completely new twist and vision, on the popular zombie genre.
***Potential Spoiler Warning***
Review: Killer B*****s is the latest comic to join the Zombie love fest going on these days. However there doesn't seem to be much of a love story here. Or men being the ones to kick undead butt. No my friends, its actually two chicks with potential girl on girl love for one another doing the butt kicking. Granted, the girl on girl thing was probably just only for messing with someone's head. Of course I find nothing wrong with that sort of thing. But anyway, you're not here for an opinion or a debate on that sort of thing. Renzo's art and Mark Beer's Shades and Colors go fairly well together. Now one problem I had with Renzo's art is that Laura looks kind of butch like in the face. Now I could be off in that assessment but she still looks somewhat hot. And by the time you finish reading this, you'll probably be wondering what Dean Mitchell has up his sleeve with everything that was shown in this issue. I know I'm pretty curious about the Elders mentioned in the story. Now while I like the fact Dean writes the two girls as some tough chicks who don't take anyone's crap, I did find myself having a problem with how easy they seemed to be handling things.
Heck, I know I'd be freaking out if I started getting attacked by Zombies and then told I had no choice but to take part in some weird scenario to survive them! Perhaps at some point Dean will give us a moment where the two girls will freak out some once things have calmed down. Another thing I take issue with is their apparent expert like capability with weapons. Especially when they don't even look the type to be all that familiar with them. Which amusingly is shown somewhat with an explosive. And as seen in the first issue we get flash backs to how things got started. And I thought it flowed pretty decently and what I will be put to good use in the next issue as well. I'm curious to see what Parrish is planning to do since he doesn't seem to be liking the way things are going. Marcus also seems like a very unpleasant man too. But I imagine our two Heroines, or one of them anyway would probably find some kind of interest in him. Although safe bet is that trying anything would be a bad idea. Unless its a move to keep yourself alive! And I would have to agree with Miss Sarah's statement about some time off! Although its a pity its not under better circumstances! So if you're willing to give another tale about Zombies a chance, give this book a read! Dean may just pull you in!
