Summary: In upstate New York in 1868, an overbearing mother and absent farm scarcely fill the void for Sophia Baukker. As Sophia desperately searches for her young lover she encounters the hypnotic guile of Satan. On this fateful night, Sophia is pulled by the forewarning of her mother and the spellbinding promises of an ancient witch; each clamoring for the possession of her soul.
Review: Now as you might recall during last Halloween, I had the pleasure of checking out the first issue of All Hallows' Eve from 215 Ink. And it seems appropriate that as October and Halloween draws near, I take on the second issue of the title, along with its third and fourth issues. And while Jack doesn't make an appearance in this issue, the work of the Devil is at hand through out this issue. Even though I'm not entirely understanding why he and the potion brewer are doing what they are. At least on the first read through anyway as it took a second read to understand it. Now I could be entirely wrong in what I'm thinking however.
Obsession can be a dangerous thing if focused on too much and its ultimately Miss Sophia's un-doing in this story. And if you've read this by now you know exactly what I'm talking about. I love though that at one point she's actually willing to stand up to her mother and considering the time period this story is set in, that's probably not something that would be looked on at all that well but the reason for her doing it would probably make it an exception.

I love that the art and colors in this issue go so well for this book and its future issues. No matter the time period, Dave does a fantastic job with the visuals. The dialogue in each issue's time periods also fit pretty well too so kudos to Thomas on that as well as he spins his web of story telling. What the future holds for Sophia and her intended is probably not a pretty one if the Devil has his say but I'd be interested in seeing what happened to them after this.
