Summary: Issue 3 of Unstoppable Origins continues the tale of Phantomhawk that began in issue 2. And in which leads to the question of whether or not the mantle is cursed.
Review: As the name would imply, this is an origin based tale and #3 is actually part of a two parter that began back in the 2nd issue about the character known as Phantomhawk. And sure you could be all like 'An origin comic!? We don't need that! Give us the real good stuff!' But sometimes, just sometimes an origin story is good to have. Helps you get more familiar with a character, especially if things that were mentioned elsewhere about that particular character had you wondering and then you read the origin and it explains things. Then you're all like 'Ohhh yeah! I get it now!' To be honest, I wasn't even expecting a crook to be pulling double duty as a hero. Its not exactly something you see in comics that much unless they are doing something real bad. Or just completely surprising the crap out of everybody at a possibly real unpleasant time. And I think the whole surprise element is what Eric was going for. So kudos to him nicely pulling it off. Though he does also manage to leave readers with a question or two. Especially concerning the previous Phantomhawk who's the father of the new one and his sister. Something that might be potentially explored one day.
Which is something to look forward to if it ever does happen. Now as far as art and colors go, Russ and Michael did a great job in their areas, now some might think one of the bad guys looks like Lobo somewhat. But the slight share in the looks area is about as far as it goes. And when sharing heart to heart earth shattering stories with a family member or otherwise, its a really good idea to make sure no one else is near by! Cause that's just more than likely to cause you problems! I'm rather curious to see how that also plays out as well. So if you're ready to get a bit Unstoppable, get on to reading this!
