[SPOILERS!!]
Review: 6 issues in and I still think ZT could use an ensamble cast of the crude, supernatural kind. But I often think the greatest appeal to this series isn't just of the scantile clad kind as well. It's also that thanks to ZT's agelessness, you can have her traveling around the world for as long as you want, and tell any story you want. Because this is her story, and we're just reading about it.
It also means we can get a lot of simply fun done-in-one tales, that may on the surface seem like throw away stories, but are also building to a wider event. I'm sure of it. And if not? Well at least they're fun.
This issue is probably the weakest of the series so far, storywise. Very, very little happens but it doesn't keep me from enjoying the slaughter and the crude humor all the same. And because not much happens, as I guess we'll delve into spoiler territory now shan't we?
We catch up with our girl fresh off her bout with the Lycan-Dope (her words, not mine) from last issue. She comes across a backwoods diner where those of the ruffian kind are getting illegal aliens together, suiting them up, and having death matches with them. It's all realy ridiculous, but sadly I could see that happen in the faraway places of the U.S.A...
Anyways, she gets herself into a pickle and has to fight her way out of the arena in order to survive. What she finds is a bunch of loco chicas who I can't tell if they were under a spell of some kind, or if they were truly just rabid women out for with a thirst for blood. I literally couldn't tell.
What I didn't enjoy about this issue was the fact that it seemed things kind of just happened because they were fun to write, instead of happening because they're actually fun. I wasn't too enthralled by the giant cat fight among girls, and honestly it was a little boring seeing everyone be no match for the one and only tramp.
We also got a special guest artist this issue with Anna Lencioni, and I adore her artwork. It's badass but also really cute. Action Lab is really good at finding artists who match this series really well. Her style is more similar to Mendoza's style, but I really enjoy how rounded everything is, and petite. I'd like to see her on the book again if we can.

[SPOILERS!!]
Review: We got two stories in one that connected to one another in this issue. Although... I think my expectations of what to expect from the Skull and Crossbones sign that this series had been building up was wholly shattered. And sadly did not live up to expectations... Unless there is more coming. But I won't get my hopes up.
At least the story was a fun one, and we were reminded that although her methods are 1000% unorthodox, Trampy does have a heart of bloody gold. Only weeding out the black hearts of society for her feasting, or those who are just assholes to her. And who doesn't wish they had that power, eh?
The first half of the story is a simple one, in another little diner out in the middle of nowhere it seems. Trampy comes across a family whose parenting skills lack what it takes to raise two little children that will do good in society. With a father/husband who will openly cheat on his wife, and a wife who's not too thrilled at Trampy taking care of the problem for her, we get to see a little bit into how Trampy thinks and acts when she's not running into people who want to kill her everywhere she goes.
The other part was letting us finally see what all those signs everywhere mean that's been building up for the last few issues, and it wasn't all it was cracked up to be honestly. The little adventure was fun, if not at least to see Trampy using an army of dead chickens to do her dirty work for her. As well as seeing how close to “actual” death she can be before escaping into a new body.
The ending does leave a lot to be desired, but damn it I can never find myself not enjoying this book to some capacity.
Another good choice for guest artist this issue. With Winston Young taking command. He has an even more rounded look to his characters, and I like that we're continually getting really cartoony artists for this comic. Action isn't Young's strong suit in this issue, but his characters all look really good when just standing or sitting around. I really like him too. I always like the artists on this book.
Oh, and there's also a big theme with fast-food in this issue. Honestly, I think that's where it went downhill, as it wasn't able to firmly tie-in that subject with all the other loose threads. And that's why this issue is about on par with the last one.

Review: Since issue #5 the series has been “okay” for the most part. But that's only 2 issues, where issue #8 brings it back. Another stand-off story – those aren't bad – we see Trampy hunting down her Necronomicon which she pinpoints after it got lost. What we get is another sad tale in the life of Trampy, but a wonderful look-back at Janey as she was human, and a grand reminder that Trampy is trying so hard to do what is right even when the world is constantly against her.
This is one of the better issue of the series, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Although I consistently feel bad for Trampy, come on Mendoza and Martin, give her one good day. My favorite part of the issue had to be the flashback to her life as human, and I'm glad we got some added depth to the night that has haunted Trampy since she was in high school. A night that helped take her on the path she now leads.
Unfortunately for her, the villain this week was someone who Trampy only wished to help but ended up being a real dipweed in the end. I do like how she got her revenge though, and I'm curious to see where the new storyline they're setting up goes. Hoping it'll be good this time... as opposed to being a Fast Food Mad Scientist...
I really like Winston Young on the book, his art is quite expressive and he's gotten better with action this issue. I think one of the strongest things about this series is the art, which is constantly great, no matter who they choose to have each month. If TMChu never comes back, I'd be a-okay with having Young stay on full time.
My only real complaints concerning this issue is that once again we can't allow Trampy to have one good day, and make one good act of kindness without their being consequences. Since this was billed as the Valentine's Day issue, I think this would've been the perfect time to showcase that the writers are willing to give her at least one free ride before throwing her back into a personal, continuous hell.
I think this series still has a lot of merit, but now that we got some stand-alones out of the way it'd be nice to see another story arc like with the incredible first 4 issues. I want to see more supernatural Tramp in -choose your supernatural creature here- action!
