The Knight's Legacy Hot Spot written by: Rob Wrecks
A soulless man in search of his identity in the world of man and a selfish man in search of the place where he comes from in the world of magic must find their missing senses of justice and virtue if they are to stop an ancient Druid order from conquering the modern Kingdoms of Camelot.
Some may think that there's nothing left to tell in the world of the Arthurian mythology. That you're better off writing from the Greek, Norse, Egyptian, and various other Pantheons. But I'm here to tell you that you are WRONG! Wrong about there being nothing left to tell stories about in the Arthurian mythology. All it takes is a little bit of thinking and boom, you are good to go from there and soon you'll be thinking of all kinds of sweet ideas. Heck, its worked for DC, the Gargoyles cartoon, and even Babylon 5 to an extent! And in case you are wondering what the heck I'm talking about when it comes to the Arthurian mythology, I of course am referring to the likes of King Arthur, Merlin, Lancelot, Camelot, and the Knights of the Round Table! I could mention a few others, but I think those are more than enough to get you all nice and familiar! Now, you're probably wondering who could it be that's thought of some new fangled idea to tell about King Arthur and friends. Is it me? Nope, definitely not me! Bill Cosby? Hah, no way! No my friends, it is in fact one Michael Sacal of Heroic Tendencies Studios.
Who is Michael you might ask? Well, I did recently have an interview with the man, so if you somehow missed that. Where were you!? Under a rock reading some gossip magazine!? Shame on you sir or ma'am! Mr. Sacal's one fairly cool guy who always tends to get a conversation going from whatever musings he happens to have. Whether those musings are about DC, Doctor Who, or something else Nerdy/Geeky, he's bound to start up a musing or two! But enough about that as you're probably wondering what he's got up his sleeve with King Arthur and friends that makes him good criteria for the Hot Spot. His idea is known as Knight's Legacy and has kept him busy for several years now on the road to getting his creation to Kickstarter and in front of all your eyes. Now, the story isn't necessarily about King Arthur and his bunch, but more along the lines of his modern day descendants. Which makes for an even more interesting idea to try and do.
Now you might ask why Michael is so interested in doing something like this. This quote from him may help for you to understand a whole lot better. Which, if you've seen my interview with him, you are most likely to recognize this.
“Back in 1998, I was searching for inspiration to create a traditional superhero story. From the start, I’d always wanted the story to be epic, which meant having epic heroes and epic villains. I’ve always liked Arthurian lore since I first saw “Excalibur” and “The Sword in The Stone”, and, in my opinion, Arthurian ideals are the ultimate form of good that has ever existed, so I decided to use that as the basis for this story.”
Fantastic inspiration isn't it!? Plus, if you think Michael only really intends to possibly just do one storyline. I'm here to tell you that's not the case. So for those of you that like getting invested into great story ideas, this will be great for you! And oh yes, donating will ensure you some sweet deals! Such as a digital version of the comic if you prefer your comic book reading the digital way. Heck if you pledge 50 dollars or more, you could even get drawn into the first issue! What a way to be immortalized! For a full run down of all the sweet perks of what you could get for whatever amount you pledge, simply head on over to the Kickstarter page! However, Michael only has 8 days to go to reach his 7,000 dollar goal and is currently only at 1,553 dollars of the full complete goal. So in order for him to get what's sure to be a fantastic read in front of your eyes, he's going to need the help of you and as many people as possible. So let's make it happen folks!
